In winter 2014, TOKIO hired DPP Communications to help promote and garner additional media coverage for its Japanese sushi and ramen restaurant at 2907 Huron Street Unit 103 in Denver’s Prospect neighborhood. Miki Hashimoto, came up with the TOKIO concept to introduce authentic Japanese cuisine to Denver, including real ramen,high-quality sushi, and a traditional binchotan charcoal station using real Japanese oak wood. The team executed a very aggressive PR campaign to create overall awareness of the brand in local, regional, cocktail, neighborhood, Japanese, beverage and food and foodie-centric restaurant markets.
